Prezacor®, Inc., developer of the Energeze® Patch, was founded by two physicians, Dr. Gary Karpf and Dr. Robin Karpf in 2005. Together, they completed the initial research on how distortions in the physio-electrical properties of various tissues are intrinsically associated with pain and other conditions.
Dr. Gary Karpf used this information to create the Energeze technology to harness the body’s own electromagnetic fields. Dr. Robin Karpf designed the initial products for use in clinical trials.
The Prezacor scientists created a thin, flexible semi-conductor device that can accept an electrical charge, act as a capacitor (holding a charge for a significant period of time), then release the accumulated energy at lower frequencies and intensities. Our scientists found that this unique broad-area surface electrode, called the Energeze Patch, delivers low wavelength energy when placed on the body, producing a soothing relaxation response. After a period of time, which may vary from individual to individual and from condition to condition, there is a soothing effect rather than the dulling of nerve transmission and the loss of sensation that occurs from more “forceful” energy sources.
Prezacor is led by CEO Gary Karpf, an experienced entrepreneurial manager of medical devices, who joined Prezacor to organize its business strategy and provide commercial development expertise. Learn more about Prezacor and our team at the Prezacor website.
